Things to play with.

Small experiments about how AI really works. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing you type leaves your device.

Safety check, in miniature

In Solaces, every message is checked before it reaches the other person. Type one and watch what a check like that does with it.

Waiting for a message

Nothing has been checked yet.

This toy uses a short word list, so it's easy to fool. The real check in Solaces uses Gemini and catches far more, and it still isn't perfect. That's why people can also report and block, and why a person is alerted when something looks serious. What the AI in Solaces does

02

Bias in, bias out

A pretend hiring model learns from a company's past decisions. Twenty new people apply, and every one of them is equally qualified. Move the slider and see who it picks.

Nobody told this model to prefer anyone. It copied the past. Most bias is baked in before anyone writes a prompt. Bias in AI starts long before the model

Is this a job for AI?

Think of one task you do every week. Answer five questions about it.

  1. Do people already moan about it?

  2. Does it come round every week?

  3. Is the answer in your own documents, notes or data?

  4. Could you count the result, in hours or tickets?

  5. Would a person spot a mistake before it did harm?

0 of 5

Answer all five to see what I'd do.

Breathe with the fire

Not everything needs AI. Some days you just need a minute. The fire grows as you breathe in and settles as you breathe out. In for four, hold for four, out for four, hold for four.

Ready when you are
