When you visit this site

This site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device.

If you press "Blow on the fire", your browser asks to use your microphone. The site only measures how loud the sound is, on your device, to make the fire flare. Nothing is recorded, kept or sent anywhere, and the microphone switches off after 20 seconds or when you tap again. On a phone, tilting it moves the flame in the same way: the tilt is read on your device and never sent.

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or follow you around the web. It shows us totals: how many people visited, which pages they read, roughly which country they were in, and what kind of device and browser they used. It doesn't tell us who you are.

The site is hosted by Railway. Like any web host, it handles your IP address to send the pages to you, and may keep it briefly in its logs. We don't use it to identify anyone. Railway and Cloudflare are US companies and may handle this outside the UK, under the safeguards UK law requires for international transfers.

When you email us

We use your email address and what you write to reply to you, and keep the conversation only as long as we need it. We don't sell it, share it for marketing or add you to a mailing list.

Why we're allowed to

We have a legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used and in answering people who get in touch. We keep both to the minimum we need.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or object to how we use it, by emailing hello@campfirelabs.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
